OUR STORY
Founded in 1980, Becky Hamlin Realty raised the bar for the standard of professionalism and customer service in the Crested Butte area. Tom and Cindy Filchner, the current owners, purchased the firm in 1992, expanded our company services, added additional staff and recruited a select group of agents to meet the growing demand for quality real estate brokerage.
In 1994 we accepted an invitation to join the Prudential Real Estate Affiliates. The affiliation with the powerful Prudential network furthered our quest to promote professionalism and to empower our broker associates with the best tools, technology and national marketing presence.
As our business grew, Tom & Cindy acquired a prime high traffic lot on Elk Ave. in the center of historic downtown Crested Butte. Tom designed the award winning 4,000 sq. ft. office building that is home to the firm today. This was the first building in town that was designed specifically to meet the requirements of a modern real estate office; fully climate controlled, networked and customized. The most impressive aspect of the design is that the exterior blends perfectly with the historic architecture of the surrounding century-old structures.
We did not set out with the goal to become the largest real estate firm in the region. That distinction evolved because we exceeded our client’s expectations and earned their trust.
